Leona T11, Stephanie T14 in Kansas
Symetra Tour — Leona Maguire closed with a four-under 68 to finish tied for 11th on 10-under par in the Garden City Charity Classic in Kansas and move closer to exemption of the new LPGA Q-Series
She finished six shots behind Allyssa Ferrell, who shot a seven-under 65 to win by two shots on 14-under par and take home $22,500.
Maguire won $2,967 to take her season's earnings to $24,123 while Stephanie Meadow made $2,134 as she tied for 14th on nine-under after a 69.
Meadow remains third in the money list race for ten LPGA Tour cards starting the week and with just four events remaining, competition is hotting up.
Leona moved up from 37th to 33rd and within touching distance of the top 30 who will be exempt for the $150,00 LPGA Q-Series, which is a two-week event which replaces Stage III (Final Stage) of the LPGA/ Symetra Qualifying Tournament.
The Q-Series will be held at Pinehurst Resort with the first week of competition held on Pinehurst No. 6 and the second week on Pinehurst No. 7.
Scores will be cumulative over the two weeks (i.e. if a competitor shoots 4-under in week one, she begins week two at 4-under). There are no cuts in the event.
The field will comprise 2018 LPGA Tour Members ranked 101st-150th, including those tied for 150th place, on the LPGA Official Money List at the conclusion of the 2018 Evian Championship.
If Leona Maguire fails to make the top 10 who win LPGA Tour cards, she'd be exempt into the Q-Series provided she's ranked between 11th and 30th on the season-ending Symetra Tour Official Money List.
If not she would be required to enter Stage II from October 13–18 at Plantation Golf and Country Club in Venice, Florida.
Those who compete in the LPGA Q-Series will be gunning to finish in the top 45 and tiesw who will receive LPGA Membership in Category 14 on the LPGA Priority List.
Competitors who finish outside of the Top 20, will also receive Symetra Tour Membership in Category C on the Symetra Tour PriorityList.
