News digest: McGovern's preparation; Bridges survives; Power cashes in; O'Driscoll debuts
Brendan McGovern was deservedly proud of the way he claimed his European Senior Tour card at the Qualifying School in Portugal last week.
But the 50-year old Headfort professional didn't win the third of just five cards without some serious preparation, as he told LMFM's Sunday Sport.
His great love the game shines through in this interview in which he also explains how the late Christy O'Connor Jnr and Bobby Browne were an inspiration to him, not just in Portugal last week, but throughout his career.

Alps Tour — Pro debut for Tommy O'Driscoll
Killarney's Tommy O'Driscoll was always going to turn professional this season but he's decided to take the bull by the horns and begin his journey in Egypt on Tuesday.
The former Ulster Boys champion and Irish Boys international will tee it up in the 2016 Ein Bay Open on the Alps Tour with his brother Eamonn, still an amateur, for company.
The pair are joined at Sokhna Golf Club by David Carey.
