Slow start for the Irish in Portuguese Amateur - all 10 players over par on day one
It was a disappointing opening day for the Irish in the Portuguese International Amateur Championship at Montado, south of Lisbon.
As Portugal's Tomás Santos defied tricky conditions to shoot a six under 66 and lead by two shots from English duo Steve Robins and Scott Gregory, all 10 Irish players in action shot over par.
Gary Collins and Jordan Hood were the best of the bunch with two over par 74s leaving them 44th and 53rd respectively while 7 Sean Flanagan, Geoff Lenehan, Eugene Smith and Eanna posted three over 75s.
Just 32 players in the 120-strong field shot par or better.
