Grehan named in six strong Irish contingent for World University Games
Stuart Grehan is dreaming of an Irish cap in this year's Home Internationals but he'll get a chance to experience the green jersey in July when he represents Ireland in the World University Golf Games in Korea.
The Tullamore and Maynooth University player, winner of his maiden title in the East of Ireland Championship at Baltray earlier this week is one of six Irish players named in the men's and women's sides to travel to Naju Gold Lake Golf Course from July 8-11 alongside UCD and Castle's Alex Gleeson and fellow Maynooth team mate Sean Flanagan from County Sligo.
The women's team, nominated by the ILGU, will see Marshall University and Enniscrone's Sarah Helly team up with Queens and Donaghadee's Jessica Ross and Maynooth and Lahinch's Sinead Sexton.
The World University Games is a multi-sport event for all university students around the world, attracting 10,000 students, which makes it the world's largest sporting event after the Olympics.
Golf is a 72-hole strokeplay event for individuals and teams with the best two scores count each day.
