Ireland forced to bow to France in Argentina

Ireland could have no complaints as they finished six shots behind France in the Southern Cross Invitational at Nordelta Golf Club near Buenos Aires.
One behind overnight and needing to overcome their French opposition in the last four groups on Sunday, Ireland's quartet were outscored by five shots on the final day, 206-211 and ended up six adrift on 12 under 852.
Most of the damaged was done by Romain Langasque, who shot a five under 67 to Gary Hurley's 70 to win the individual title by an impressive nine strokes on 14 under par 274 from Australia's Jarryd Felton 283. The West Waterford and Maynooth University man was third on four under 284.

Naas Jack Hume also shot 70 but finished fifth overall on two under 286 as he was outscored by Jeremy Gandon (68) who took fourth on 285.
The Island's Gavin Moynihan closed with a 71 , beat the discarded 75 of Edgar Catherine by four to take 10th in the individual on two over 290.
Whitehead's John-Ross Galbraith also shot 71 to share 21st on 10 over, matching his French opposite number, Ugo Coussaud, who also shot 71 to finish tied 11th on three under.
