Dignam and Kelly tops at Naas
John Dignam and John Kelly carded one under par rounds of 70 to share top prize at the Naas Pro-Am.
With a shot-gun start in use, Slade Valley man Dignam began his round at the 14th and quickly got under par, playing his opening nine holes in two under.
Another birdie followed at the sixth, but a bogey at eight followed by a double at the par four ninth brought him back to level par before a closing birdie at the par four 11th.
Reigning order of merit champion Kelly, got off to a shocking start with three dropped shots at his opening three holes, 16, 17 and 18.
The St Margaret's professional got back on track with a birdie at the first but dropped another shot at the par three eighth to remain three over for his round.
However, he fought back over his final seven holes, picking up birdies at the ninth and 13th before wrapping up his round with an eagle at the par five 15th.
In the team event, Donal Gleeson (Old Conna) and Shane Deegan (Spawell Driving Range) finished level with 85 points.
