Daly wins in Turkey — proposes to girlfriend; Clarke and Phelan in the money
Two-time major champion John Daly ended a 10 year drought by winning the 2014 Beko Classic in Turkey.
“It feels great to win – as professionals we try to build on confidence so any time you win anything it boosts it,” explained Daly after a 72 gave him a one shot win at Gloria Golf Resort.
“It’s pretty much my last tournament of the year so I can hopefully go into 2015 with some extra confidence.”
It was Daly's first win since he won the 2004 Buick Invitational at Torrey Pines and he was happy to donate his $8,000 winner's cheque to local charities after he finished one ahead of Robert Coles on 15 under. Scores
