Tour operators head North West
The lure of Ireland’s northwest has proved irresistible for the Ireland Golf Tour Operator Association (IGTOA) which will host a national tournament showcasing the region’s golf tourism product on 17 April.
The “2013 IGTOA Killeen House Trophy National Tournament & Evening Banquet” will take place on the Dunes Championship Links at Sligo’s Enniscrone Golf Club followed by a banquet at the Mount Falcon Country Estate, just across the border in Mayo.
With a trophy presented to the IGTOA by the proprietors of Killarney’s Killeen House Hotel in 1996, the event is the largest social gathering of golf tourism industry professionals across the island of Ireland.
It is supported each year by a host of key national and international companies and is being hosted in Co. Mayo for the first time.
IGTOA Chairman, Denis Kane said: “Enniscrone Championship Links is among the finest and most challenging traditional Irish links golf courses in Ireland today, positioned on 400 acres of magnificent links land, featuring the par 73 Dunes Championship Links Course.
“We also look forward to enjoying true Irish hospitality and gourmet cuisine at the magnificent Mount Falcon Estate, proud winner of the 2011 IGTOA Boutique Golf Hotel of the Year Award.
“The IGTOA is delighted to showcase the wonderful golf tourism product in the North West of Ireland and we look forward to meeting our colleagues in Irish golf in April”.
