Coughlan to skipper Home International team in Cork
Cork’s Claire Coughlan will captain the Irish team when the Women’s Home International Matches at held at her home club from September 4-6.
It is the first time the Home Internationals have been played in Ireland since 2005, when former Curtis Cup player Coughlan was a member of the side seeking a hat-trick of wins at Dundalk.
Limerick’s Niamh Kitching, a recent past International, will once again captain the Irish Girls team at the Girls’ European Team Championships at GC St. Leon-Rot in German from July 10-14 and the Girls’ Home International team at Radyr Golf Club in Wales from August 7-9. Seapoint’s Paula Reynolds will accompany Kitching and the team for a second year, acting as Team Manager for both events.
Dun Laoghaire’s Terry Sexton, a member of the Irish Senior Ladies team that played England in 2001, will take up the reins as captain of the Irish Seniors’ team for the European Senior Ladies Team Championships which will be played at Lugano Golf Club in Switzerland from September 4-8. She will also lead the team in the Senior Home International Matches at Elie & Earlsferry in Scotland from October 2-4.
