Mayrange Hospitality has appointed Breffne McKenna as the Director of Golf to oversee operations at Castlemartyr Resort Golf Club in Cork, the Ring Of Kerry Golf Club in Kerry and Tulfarris Hotel & Golf Resort in Wicklow.

Ms McKenna has steered the investment of approximately €2 million across all three golf clubs in the Mayrange portfolio, with further plans to develop the competitive requirements of the courses, including academy facilities, driving ranges, membership benefits and the visitor hospitality aspects of each golfing venue.

She was promoted to the role of Director of Golf at Castlemartyr Resort in 2017, where she has grown the membership extensively, modernised and streamlined operations, and, in 2023, installed a new Driving Range facility.

“I’m absolutely delighted to be appointed Director of Golf for the Mayrange golf portfolio,” she said. “Golf is my passion and being able to work on a programme of development with each club is an exciting prospect. It’s a prestigious group of properties, each with an outstanding golf offering.

“The appointment is a demonstration of the Mayrange Hospitality commitment to evolving the golf offering and ensuring each venue’s position within the Irish and international golfing landscape from both competitive and tourist perspectives.”

Castlemartyr Resort Golf Club offers a Ron Kirby-designed inland links-style course offering an entertaining round of golf.

Ms McKenna oversaw the installation of a new driving range which is a welcome addition to the golf offering, which consists of a clubhouse with casual dining and a pro-golf shop. She also manages the memberships of Castlemartyr Resort Golf Club.

Tulfarris Hotel & Golf Resort is one of Ireland’s most loved golf courses, set in the scenic landscape of the Wicklow lakes. A driving range, academy, clubhouse, and pro shop complement the four-star hotel offering. Juniors can enjoy golf here too, with lessons and camps available with the PGA professionals.

Another Ron Kirby-designed course features at The Ring of Kerry Golf Club with views of the Caha Mountains and Kenmare Bay for golfers. Offering an Academy for beginners and improvers, a PGA team and pro-shop as well as a beautiful golf club house, home to Nua Vista restaurant.

In her new role as Mayrange Director of Golf, Ms McKenna will support the operations of each club, including hosting competitions, growing and developing memberships, as well as managing the corporate and tourist hospitality remits.

In addition to the day-to-day operations she will be instrumental in developing plans to evolve the golf offering in each venue, with ambitious plans to position Castlemartyr Resort as a host venue for national and international competitions.
