Foley in the mix at Scottish Amateur; ace for Patrick Keeling
Irish Close champion Hugh Foley opened with a four-under 65 to sit just three shots off the pace at the Scottish Men's Open Championship at Southerness.
The Royal Dublin man made five birdies and a bogey to share fourth place behind England’s James Wilson, who seven-under 62 gave him a one-stroke lead over compatriot Callan Barrow and Scotland’s Stuart Easton.
Roganstown’s Patrick Keeling had a hole-in-one at the 217-yard 15th as he carded a two-under 67 to share sixth place with Castle’s Robert Moran tied 12th after a one-under 68.
Foley and Moran are among the Irish entries for next week’s St Andrews Links Trophy.
