Elm Park 12th after opening round of European Ladies' Club Trophy

Elm Park were 12th on 17-over after the opening round of the European Ladies' Club Trophy in France.
Mary Frances McKenna shot an eight-over 80, Louise Mernagh an 81 and Emma Thorne a discounted 89 to leave them 18 shots behind leaders Club de Golf Toulouse on 161 at Golf de Fontainebleau near Paris.
Louise Reau carded a two-under-par 70, a score only bettered by a three-under 69 by Golf Club Monticello’s Elisa Galli, to give Toulouse a three-stroke lead over defending champions Smørum Golfklub from Denmark on one-under 143.
Former Junior Vagliano Trophy and Junior Solheim Cup player, Amalie Leth-Nissen signed for a round of level-par, helping the Danish club to a strong start as they look to defend their title.
Galli finished with back-to-back birdies for a round of 69 (-3). The Italian national champions sit just three shots back in a tie for third.
