Shane Lowry 12/1 from 16/1 to bag second Major in 2021
Shane Lowry is fancied to pull off another major win in 2021 as punters line up to get on the early New Year prices, according to bookies BoyleSports.
The Offaly man was denied the chance to defend the claret jug when the 149th Open at Royal St. George’s was cancelled due to COVID-19
However, it’s now set for the same venue next July and punters believe it represents Lowry’s best chance of adding to his major tally in 2021.
The Clara man is a 33/1 shot to win The Open again while the chances of him becoming the first Irishman to win the Masters are rated at 50/1.
The current World No. 33 has been backed down to 12/1 from 16/1 with BoyleSports to win any of the majors this year with the US PGA at Kiawah Island also likely to suit his game.
Lawrence Lyons, spokesperson for BoyleSports said: “American Bryson DeChambeau has been well backed to bag another major this year but it’s good to see the home support arriving for Shane Lowry to prove his Open win was no fluke. We’ve had to go 12/1 from 16/1 this week about another major for the Clara man so we’ll be keeping a close eye on his early form this season.”
