Teenager Rory Milne led Faithlegg’s young guns to their first Munster AIG Senior Cup pennant with a 4-1 win over Douglas at Killarney.

Milne was out in the first match against Douglas' Peter O'Keeffe and the teenager made three early birdies to go three up after five, made the turn at five up and promptly eagled the 11th to beat O'Keeffe's tap-in birdie en route to a 3 and 1 win.

While Douglas battled to get back on even terms, Faithlegg produced some great golf at key times to remain in front.

Alex King secured the first point for Faithlegg by beating Paul Tobin 4&3 before Dylan O'Connor added a second when he closed out Jack Murphy 3&2 in match three.

Milne was four up with four to play but while O'Keeffe won the 15th and 16th to keep the contest going, the Faithlegg starlet birdied the 17th to secure the overall win as Rory Fives and Darragh O'Sullivan were called in.

Killarney's Killeen course was in great condition for the final, and the benign weather ensured hat the players and a small number of supporters enjoyed the day.

Faithlegg had a 3.5-1.5 win over Tralee in their semi-final while Douglas had an equally impressive 4-1 win over holders Limerick.  Faithlegg will now advance as Munster Champions to the AIG Cups and Shields national finals at Donegal Golf Club from October 17-18.
