O Briain wins Cork Pro-Am with impressive 64
Old Conna’s Neil O Briain made nine birdies in an eight-under 64 to win the Cork Pro-Am by four shots.
The Dubliner birdied the second, third, fifth and seventh to turn in 32, picked up three more shots with a hat-trick of birdies at the 12th, 13th and 14th before finishing birdie-bogey-birdie.
Limerick’s Tim Rice, Dun Laoghaire’s Richard O’Donovan, Banbridge’s Richard Kilpatrick and Monkstown’s Cian McNamara tied for second on four-under after 68’s with Simon Thornton sixth with a 69.
St Margaret's Golf & Country Club’s Shane Jenkinson won the team prize with 96 points.
