Mehaffey in contention as Walsh makes ace in NorthropGrumman Regional Challenge

Olivia Mehaffey is just two shots off the lead with Castlewarden's Lauren Walsh pushing for a top-10 finish after her hole-in-one in the second round of the NorthropGrumman Regional Challenge in California.
Arizona State star Mehaffey added a three-under 68 to her opening 70 at Palos Verdes Golf Club to go into today's final round tied for third on four-under, just two shots behind co-leaders Emma Spitz (UCLA) and Kaleigh Telfer (Auburn).
Wake Forest freshman Walsh was two-over for her second round with six holes to go before she aced the 205-yard fourth (her 13th) and parred her way home to card a 71 that leaves her tied for 19th on two-over.
Lurgan's Annabel Wilson is tied for 38th on six-over after rounds of 76 and 72 whlle her UCLA team lies second in the team event on four-over, eight strokes behind Duke.
Wake Forest is tied fourth on eight-over with Mehaffey's Arizona State is solo sixth, a shot further back.
