Brennan and Mullarney best of the Irish at EuroPro Tour Q-School
Seven of Irish golf’s 12-man entry were inside the projected cut mark after the first round of the EuroPro Tour Q-School supported by Sky Sports.
Shannon’s Danny Brennan shot a four-under 68 at the Oxfordshire as Galway’s Ronan Mullarney posted a four-under 69 at Studley Wood, leaving them tied for 19th.
Paul McBride (70), Stuart Grehan (71), Conor O’Rourke (70), John Hickey (71) and Cameron Raymond (71) were also inside the top 80 and ties who will qualify for tomorrow’s final round.
But Eoin Leonard (73), Brendan McCarroll (72), amateur Tom McKibbin (72), Luke Donnelly (74) and Conor Purcell (77) all have more work to do make today’s 36-hole cut.
Penwortham Golf Club’s Ryan O’Neill shot the round of the day across both courses with a bogey-free, eight-under 65 at Studley Wood putting him two clear of the nearest players moving into the second day where he will head to The Oxfordshire.
The final day will be hosted at Studley Wood Golf Club with the top thirty earning the best category available.
