Grant heads Irish as Nobilio moves two clear in Portuguese Ladies Amateur

Lisburn’s Paula Grant carded a second successive 73 to lead the Irish challenge at halfway in the Portuguese International Ladies Amateur Championship, Montado Hotel & Golf Resort.
The former Curtis Cup player is tied for 17th on two-over par, ten strokes adrift of world number five Alessia Nobilio of Italy after a tough day at the office for the Irish quartet.
As Nobilio carded a three-under 69 to lead by two strokes from Spain’s Carla Tejedo on eight-under par, Grant mixed four birdies with three bogeys and a double bogey.
Kirkistown Castle’s Beth Coulter shot a 76 to share 30th on five-over with Hermitage’s Kate Lanigan a shot further back after a 79.
Clandeboye’s Jessica Ross also carded a 79 to share 63rd place on nine-over.
