Q-School - Irish draw a blank at Stoke by Nayland

Brian Casey bogeyed two of his last three holes and failed to get through the First Stage of the European Tour Qualifying School at Stoke by Nayland.
The 26-year-old from Headfort finished three strokes outside the top 20 and ties in a share of 24th on level par after a closing 71.
Old Conna's Neil O'Briain birdied two his last three but also shot 71 to finish a shot further back on one-over while Peter Williamson shot 76 to share 57th on eight-over.
Exactly 20 players finished on three-under-par or better with American Steven Burak topping the leaderboard by five strokes on 14-under-par from Swede Gabriel Axell.

There were no Irish in action at the other Section B First Stage qualifier at Golfclub Schloss Ebreichsdorf in Austria where 22 players qualified on four-under or better headed by Argentina's Tommy Cocha, who won by five on 15-under.

The third round of four First Stage (Section C) qualifiers take place at Golf d’Hardelot in France and Ribagolfe in Portugal from Tuesday.
