Garcia on Harrington: "We don't have a problem, we have a mutual respect"

Sergio García confirmed at his home club this week that he has "no problem" with Pádraig Harrington.

Harrington, who said after the Masters that Garcia was "a very bad loser" when he denied the Spaniard the 2007 Open and 2008 US PGA, revealed in Dublin on Tuesday that the pair had cleared the air at Rory McIlroy's wedding last weekend

“We have had a chat because clearly there was an elephant in the room about what I said and we have decided that we will look going forward at our similarities and the good in each of us rather than any other way," Harrington said. 

“We are in a great place. If anything, it has worked out to the better."

Speaking at Club de Golf del Mediterráneo in his home town of Borriol yesterday, Garcia confirmed that they pair called a truce in Ashford Castle last weekend. 

"I spoke to him last weekend when we met at Rory's wedding," García told the Spanish golf portal Ten-golf.es. "There's no problem, we don't have a problem, we have a mutual respect for one another."

As for his future plans, they put him on a direct collision course with Harrington. 

"Everbody knows what the British Open means to me and that I'd like to win it," García said. "Yes, I believe I will have the chance to win more than one Major."
