Picture by Pat Cashman/www.cashmanphotography.ieNick Agate’s side got off to a flyer when Owen Crooks took the scalp of Kevin Le Blanc, who earlier this week retained his Irish Under 15 Open title, on the 16th green.
That momentum was built on in the foursomes match, where Peter Cummins and Ryan Corry overcame Paul Kelly and the highly fancied Thomas Mulligan on the 18th green.
Ulster’s success was finalised when Jack Madden saw off Harry Duggan by 5 and 3, while Marc McKinstry put the exclamation point on the win with a final-hole victory over Michael Cooke.
Alan Fahy managed Leinster’s only win earlier in the contest, seeing off Patrick Brennan by 5 and 4.
Earlier, Munster and Connacht fought out an entertaining draw, a result which left Munster in third place by the narrowest of margins.
