Walsh and Byrne miss cut in LPGA card bids

Lauren Walsh and Sara Byrne came
up short in their bid for LPGA Tour cards when they missed the 72-hole cut at the final stage of the five round Q-Series in Alabama.

Only the top 65 and ties made today’s final round battle to finish in the top 25 and ties who will be awarded LPGA cards.

But Walsh closed with a three over 74 in the Falls Course at Magnolia Grove, finishing two shots outside the cut mark in a tie for 73rd on four-over.

Byrne shot a level par 72 on the Crossings Course to finish four shots further back in joint 86th on eight over.

Walsh and Byrne are guaranteed cards on the LPGA’s second tier Epson Tour.

Three others round out the top-five including 54-hole leader Yu Liu who shot a fourth-round 69 and finds herself in solo-fourth.

Gigi Stoll and Manon De Roey are both tied for fifth with 18-holes remaining at 15-under.
