Power seeking third round improvement in Texas
Seamus Power will be determined to improve his third round scoring average after he shot a second successive 69 to share 25th place heading into the weekend in the AT&T Byron Nelson in Texas.
The West Waterford man has had some disappointing weekend performances in his rookie season, shooting over par in 10 of 19-weekend rounds.
Ranked fifth in first round scoring (69.07) and 53rd in round two (70.36), he is 119th in round three (71.2) and 185th in round four (72.33).
The good news is that he's one of the most powerful hitters and best scramblers on tour this year and he's just one good week away from securing his card for 2018 having made 10 of 15 cuts to lie 143r in the FedEx Cup rankings.
A top seven finish at TPC Four Seasons Resort in Dallas would be enough to make the Top 125 at the end of the season.
Power might be ten strokes behind Jason Kokrak, whose second round 62 gave him a five-stroke lead on 12 under par.
But Power is just five shots behind second-placed Billy Horschel on two-under and only three shots outside the top 10.
