European Tour — Paul Dunne took another small step towards retaining his European Tour card when he posted a five under 66 in the weather-delays Porsche European Open in Germany.

The Greystones man ended the day tied for 17th on six under after after playing 10 holes of his second round in one under par at  Golf Resort Bad Griesbach.

He’s 11 strokes behind runaway leader Alexander Levy, who stormed six shots clear on 17 under with one hole to play. Scores

Levy teed off his second round just one hour after signing for a first round 62 midway through day two, and his momentum never faltered as he started with three birdies before picking up five more shots to reach the eighth, his 17th, in eight under before the klaxons were sounded due to darkness.

Three players of huge experience led the chasing pack on 11 under - home favourite and Ryder Cup player Martin Kaymer was seven under through 17, Robert Karlsson is threatening the magic number of 59  (albeit with preferred lies) as he is nine under through 15 on the par 71 course, while the Swede’s playing partner Ross Fisher is five under with three to play.

Those players that were still out on the course when play was halted overnight will resume their own second rounds at 8:00am local time. Wiesberger, meanwhile, will have a mountain to climb to reclaim the lead when the Austrian tees off his second round on Saturday.

Michael Hoey did not get to play but his four under total is now just good enough for a share of 32nd with the cut projected to fall at three under par.

Rosapenna’s Ruaidhri McGee has six birdies in a two under 69 but was just level par with three holes to go and a shot outside the projected cut mark after making three birdies and three bogeys in round two.

Padraig Harrington is tied 116th on level par after his 72.

Power cut in Ohio

Web.com Tour — Seamus Power missed his first cut since July when he added a two over 73 to his opening 72 in the Nationwide Children's Hospital Championship in Ohio.
The West Waterford man finished four shots outside the mark on three over after at Ohio State University Golf Club's Scarlet Course, where Tag Ridings (65) and Martin Flores (66) lead by two strokes on eight under par.
The cut fell at one under 141, which meant that England's Andrew "Beef" Johnston missed out by one stroke on level par after rounds of 72 and 70. Scores
