Ireland facing uphill task at European Team Championships
Ireland have work to do to make the top flight in both the women's and girls' European Team Championships in Iceland and Norway.
The senior team is closest to the top eight who will make the top flight as they are ranked 10th at Oddur Golf Club in Ireland with Curtis Cup players Olivia Mehaffey (73) and Maria Dunne (75) leading the way.
In the girls’ team has a lot of ground to make up as they currently lie in 14th position.
Lurgan’s Annabel Wilson shot one of the rounds of the day, carded five birdies in a two under 70 to share fifth place while fellow Junior Vagliano teammate Mairead Martin (Killarney) was the next best on 78, followed by Niamh McSherry (Lurgan), Julie McCarthy (Forrest Little), Valerie Clancy (Killarney) and Rachel Thompson (Cork) with scores of 80, 81, 83 and 87.
