Schools wins for Ursuline College Sligo and St. Michael's Grammar School Lurgan
St. Michael's Grammar School Lurgan and Ursuline College Sligo won the Irish Schools Senior and Junior Cups at Milltown.
In the Senior Cup, Niamh Ward fired a sensational three-under par 39pts which when added to her schoolmate Niamh McSherry's one-over-par 35pts saw them lead the field by 13pts from Dublin's Santa Sabina.
In the Junior Cup, Ursuline College Sligo won their first Irish title when Maeve Rooney (28pts) and Niamh Cronin (16pts) defeated defending champions St. Mary's High School by 2 pts.
