Slow play will be one of the key issues discussed at a seminar to launch the Leinster Golf Strategy “ROADMAP 2017”.

Delegates from 170 affiliated clubs have been invited to attend the seminar, which will be held in Carton House Hotel on Monday, 24 March.

Pace of play is one of the hot topics but the seminar will also focus on the exceptional challenges Irish golf has faced over the past five years, such as the economy, lifestyle changes and competition from other sports.

European Tour player Peter Lawrie will give an insight into pace of play on the tour together with GREENi, who will give a short demonstration on an electronic Pace of Play Management System for clubs.

The GREENi system www.greeni.com was successfully used at the Leinster Mid Amateur Championship last year and will be used at this years’ East of Ireland Championship.

Leinster Golf's ROADMAP 2017 provides an in depth analysis of the game in Leinster and is based on survey results from more than 8,000 golfers and data from focus groups with key stakeholders.

A comprehensive action plan covering ten initiatives that are needed to develop and improve the game over the next four years has been formulated with Pace of Play, one of the most critical issues affecting golfers and clubs, near the top of the agenda.

A panel of representatives from the Golfing Union of Ireland, the Confederation of Golf in Ireland and Leinster Golf will provide delegates with an opportunity to participate in a Q & A session.
