Trainor off to a flyer at Q-School
Barrie Trainor got his bid for a European Tour card off to a flying start when he opened with a two under par 70 in the First Stage of the Qualifying School at Dundonald Links in Scotland.
The Ulsterman is alone in fifth place, just three strokes off the lead with amateur James Fox the next best of the Irish at that venue after a three over par 75.
Fox's brother Noel endured a tough start at Ribagolfe in Portugal where an opening 79 leaves him 12 strokes off the pace.
